Green Wind Renewables recently welcomed members of the Yued traditional owners group to the meteorological (met) mast site for the Wandoo Wind Farm project in early March 2025. This visit marked an important step in supporting collaboration and strengthening relationships with the traditional custodians of the land.
The Yued people, part of the Noongar Nation, have a deep cultural and spiritual connection to the region. Their visit provided a meaningful opportunity to share knowledge, stories, and the cultural significance of the area, ensuring that the project aligns with the values of the local community.
During the visit, the Yued representatives, including junior representatives, observed civil works to ensure there were no adverse impacts on Aboriginal cultural heritage. It was fantastic to welcome the junior representatives and see their engagement in the discussions, highlighting the importance of passing down cultural knowledge to future generations. The group also toured the met mast site and participated in conversations about the progress of the Wandoo Wind Farm project, exploring ways to integrate cultural heritage considerations into its development.
Green Wind Renewables is dedicated to delivering sustainable energy and is focused on environmental protection and cultural heritage. The company values its ongoing engagement with the Yued traditional owners group and looks forward to continued collaboration to ensure the project is developed with shared respect and responsibility.
